Am I everything you want me to be?
I’m optimistic by nature, but also aware that your answer is likely not all that positive; Or if positive, not all that certain.
I’m sorry that, at times, I’ve felt more like something to be survived than the adventure that I am; Or some uncontrollable roller coaster, not endless elevation; Or the bearer of bad news rather than the inspiring unfolding that I've wanted to be for you.
If I could have changed these things, I would have.
By design however, I have little say over your experience of me. Both our most beautiful seasons and the most challenging ones are entirely your choice.
I am simply a generous giver, sensitive ear & quick responder.
Like a spring in the ground serving water to both oceans of no boundary & deserts of instant consumption, it is in my design to give without bias & no end.
I’m listening, constantly listening, and responding to what you’re asking for, regardless of the quality of your request or even your awareness of making one. In fact, most of the circumstances, relationships, and things that I create for you are asks you’ve made unconsciously.
Those patterns of thought from childhood. The hopes you haven't told a soul about. That fear you can’t seem to leave behind. The desires you’ve suppressed for years. They all continue to inquire of me, demanding I respond with my creative nature.
I am always saying yes to you, not judging the harmful requests from the helpful. This, of course, begs the question: what are you asking of me?
This way takes a higher awareness of yourself and your thoughts and feelings and deeply-rooted paradigms; a mastery of your internal world.
But it also means I’m far more pliable than you think.
The dream in your heart that's felt too scary to pursue. The situation you’ve felt like a victim to your whole life. The career you feel stuck in. The illness you’ve been fighting. The income bracket you can't seem to break in to. The painful discrepancy between who you know yourself to be and the person everyone else sees you as. You’re the master of your own fate, with every bit of the faculty to shape and employ me.
This way of self-mastery is not the way of ego, or westernized individualism, or even the agnostic path. In fact, it’s just the opposite, as we will discover together.
If you don’t hear me say anything else today, hear this: You’re far more powerful than you give yourself credit for.
You have created your life, as you know it. And you can change your life, as you see it.
It’s time to wake up.
I’m a creative force of endless potential dying to help you create the experience of me that you really want.
The only ceiling I have is the one in your mind.
My purpose is your progress.
