A Quick Breakdown Of Why It's Absurd To Tax Tampons

Miki Agrawal, CEO and co-founder of period underwear company Thinx, is here to explain why taxing tampons and other feminine hygiene products is, for lack of a better phrase, complete bullshit.

In an op-ed video for The Huffington Post, Agrawal breaks down just how ridiculous it is that only five states in the United States exempt feminine hygiene products from sales taxes. According to a Fusion report, five states don't have sales tax at all, but the remaining 40 states consider the feminine hygiene products to be "luxury items."

As Agrawal points out: "Having a period is an unavoidable biological miracle, and it’s hard not to feel like we’re being taxed for simply being female."
