Some say love, in general anyway, a river that drowns the tender reed. I have no idea what that means, but I love that song "The Rose" so here we are. Anyway, if love is a river than what exactly is hard love? And what exactly is hard love when it's presented in this fashion: H A R D L O V E. Thankfully, unlike some of the lyrics in that Bette Midler song, this one has an easy answer. It's the new album from hitmakers NEEDTOBREATHE, who clearly don't care about appropriate spacing, cases, or punctuation - nor should they. It's easy to ignore all of the things that probably drive the grammar police crazy when you take into account the South Carolina band just keep releasing mega-hit record after mega-hit record.

Case in point, the band's sixth studio album debuted at No. 1 with 46,000 copies sold. It's their third straight to reach that feat, following 2014's Rivers in the Wasteland and 2011's The Reckoning. The album and their single "HAPPINESS," by the way, are leading all across the charts including the tops of both Christian Albums and Rock Songs. Needless to say, the four-some are taking their new material on the road in the form of a US headlining tour dubbed "TOUR DE COMPADRES 2016." The tour, which begins Aug. 17 in Raleigh, NC, will feature a cavalcade of supporting acts - all of which are buds with the band. Among the guests are Mat Kearney, John Mark McMillan, Parachute and Welshly Arms. No Midler I'm afraid. Anyway, A-Sides had the privilege of speaking with half of the band - Bo Rinehart (guitar, vocals) and Seth Bolt (bass, vocals) - recently in New York City, covering everything from the new album to hitting the road. Watch on and who knows maybe next time we'll have the other 2/4 Bear Rinehart and Josh Lovelace for ya!

A-Sides' "Delve Into Twelve" Countdown
Each week A-Sides unleashes its top 12 tracks of the week AKA the "Delve Into Twelve" based on the following contributing factors: songs I'm playing out that particular week (no matter when they were released -- think overlooked songs, unreleased tracks and old favorites), songs various publicists are trying to get me to listen to that I did and dug a bunch, song posts and trends I've noticed on my friends' Facebook walls and, most importantly: what my toddler is currently enjoying thoroughly with an assist from my infant.

About A-Sides with Jon Chattman - thisisasides.com :
Jon Chattman's music/entertainment series typically features celebrities and artists (established or not) from all genres performing a track, and discussing what it means to them. This informal series focuses on the artist making art in a low-threatening, extremely informal (sometime humorous) way. No bells, no whistles -- just the music performed in a random, low-key setting followed by an unrehearsed chat. In an industry where everything often gets overblown and over manufactured, Jon strives for a refreshing change. Artists featured on the series include Imagine Dragons, Melissa Etheridge, Yoko Ono, Elle King, Joe Perry, Alice Cooper, fun, Bleachers, Charli XCX, Marina and the Diamonds, and Bastille.
