A-Sides with Jon Chattman: Welcome to Rixton's 'Hotel Ceiling' -- Such a Lovely Place

Ariana Grande seems to be everywhere. She's got more singles out there than a J-Date mixer, just showed up on The Grammys, and I hear Starbucks will soon introduce the Ariana Grande-sized latte. OK, that last statement is a lame sense of humor, but let's face it the 20-something hottie is all over the place and deserves it.

She's got the pipes and the talent to have a long, fruitful career. The same can be said for her current opening act - a band of Brits who scored a multi-platinum debut single in "Me and My Broken Heart." Yep, Rixton are about to hit us upside the head with catchy and meaningful ditties that will be embedded in our heads much like "Love Me Harder" is as I type this.

On March 3, the band (Jake Roche, Danny Wilkin, Charley Bagnall and Lewi Morgan), will drop their debut full-length album Let the Road,, and have already scored a buzzworthy hit with their track "Hotel Ceiling." At the A-Sides Studio/Listening Room within Primary Wave Music last month, the band performed a trio of tracks and sat down for a chat. Be prepared to hear a lot more from Rixton in the coming weeks, months, and probably decades... and watch everything they did for A-Sides below. Filmed by Joe Ades, enjoy the acoustic trifecta, down-to-earthness of this talented quartet...um...now! Oh, and catch their tour dates with Ms. Grande here.

A-Sides "Aside": SomeKindaSnapchat
A-Sides buds SomeKindaWonderful unveiled their spring tour plans in an extremely creative way last week. No longer just a platform to send sexts that vanish, the band announced their "Burn It Up" tour via Snapchat.

"The Snapchat platform has been such an awesome way to communicate with our fans directly so we thought why not do a little experiment and let the fans announce the tour for us?," explained Jordy Towers, lead singer of SomeKindaWonderful. For tour dates, click here. Like Rixton, this band is going places.

About A-Sides with Jon Chattman:
Jon Chattman's music series features celebrities and artists (established or not) from all genres of music performing a track, and discussing what it means to them. This informal series focuses on the artist making art in a low-threatening, extremely informal (sometime humorous) way. No bells, no whistles -- just the music performed in a random, low-key setting followed by an unrehearsed chat. In an industry where everything often gets overblown and over manufactured, Jon strives for a refreshing change. Artists have included fun., Charli XCX, Imagine Dragons, Alice Cooper, Joe Perry, Gary Clark Jr., American Authors, Echosmith, and many, many more!
