I see too many women playing small. They'd rather hide behind their cubicle partitions than risk being disliked, judged, or seen as imperfect.
If you felt a sudden wave of recognition after you read the sentences above, then you are probably one of these women.
I used to be one; I remember how hard it was for me to assert myself.
If you're like I was, you have worked hard to get to where you are. Yet, you can't ignore the nagging feeling that something is missing. You feel frustrated that you are not living up to your full potential, yet you're not sure what to do to fix it.
I wish you could see yourself how others truly see you. You've got so much to offer.
Why do you continue to hide your brilliance from the world? I believe what's missing is an unshakeable belief in yourself; that belief in yourself is where it begins. You have to know without a doubt that you are a strong, capable and worthy person. You have to lead your life with resilience and determination, regardless of what blocks your path.
When my private clients first come to me, they often have a hard time visualizing big visions of their careers and lives. They can describe their one-year professional goals, but they can't see beyond that. They don't have a clear vision of where they want to be three, five, or ten years ahead. Their dreams are confined because their faith in themselves is limited.
Deep down, they have dreams and ideas of what they want to achieve, but they have convinced themselves their bold dreams are impossible, unrealistic, and "too big." So, they snuff out their dreams before they even have a chance to take hold. I know one thing for certain: Killing a dream before it's born is a sure way to NOT make a dream come true.
What's the secret to believing in yourself and you vision for the future? It is knowing that you are enough. You already have everything you need to flourish in any environment. You've gotten yourself this far with your smarts, your resolve, and your skills. And those qualities are never going to disappear; they are part of who you are. Believe in them. Believe in YOU.
When you fully trust yourself, you can achieve anything. You no longer need to chase after more. You can finally stop searching for what is missing, and you take a stand for yourself and stop playing the comparison game. You no longer look to others to determine your worth.
There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.

Each of us has the ability to be a leader. I believe leadership is a choice. Leaders are no different from the rest of world; they simply decided to take a stand and lead.
