If you're struggling with thoughts of suicide, it's important to remember that you have a beautiful story to tell. Relaying your story to other people can help both yourself and others who might be struggling with similar issues.

As cliche as it sounds, by telling your story you'll realize you were never alone. Your story is important and an integral part of developing an affirmation of hope within yourself. There are so many people out there who go through suicidal thoughts, bullying, and depression that we owe to one another to start an open dialogue about suicide and depression. Suicide is never the only option, nor the right option.

Donny Winter talks about finding this positive affirmation within yourself in the video above. He mentions that seeking out help and a listening ear will help us all to confront our troubles, and he's right. We all need someone that we can relate to. Connection to one another person is one of the best reasons to stay alive and keep surviving. Talk to someone.

Surround yourself with good people who are not afraid to encourage you. Speak out, be heard, and share your story.

To reach out to someone who can help, contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline or Text "GO" to 741741.
