'A Working Theory Of Love' By Scott Hutchins Is HuffPost SF's Next Book Club Pick (VIDEO)

Join Us For A Discussion With SF's Hottest New Novelist

We're thrilled to announce that HuffPost SF's latest Book Club pick is A Working Theory of Love by local rising star novelist Scott Hutchins.

Hutchins, who teaches at Stanford, will visit The Booksmith on Haight Street on October 2 for an exclusive (and free!) gathering of literary fans, cosponsored by ours truly. The shindig coincides with the book's official release date.

A Working Theory of Love, Hutchins' "wildly inventive" debut, tells the tale of a disaffected 30something man recovering from a divorce who explores the meaning of relationships through a computer that channels the voice of his dead father. We've had a chance to give it a sneak read, and we know you'll find it as engrossing as we do. (Bonus points for the wealth of San Francisco landmarks and trivia woven in!)

We hope you'll join us for this exciting event. Hutchins has even generously offered to continue the conversation with our readers at a nearby bar after Booksmith closes.

More details here. Mark your calendars now, and see you there!
