Aaron Hernandez Reportedly Beats Up Fellow Inmate At Bristol County House Of Correction

REPORT: Aaron Hernandez Beats Up Fellow Inmate

Ex-New England Patriot Aaron Hernandez allegedly beat up a fellow inmate on Tuesday, sources told TMZ Sports.

Hernandez is facing murder charges and has pled not guilty in the shooting death of a semi-pro football player. The 24-year-old has been jailed since last June, and is being held without bail at Bristol County House of Correction.

A source told TMZ Sports that the fellow inmate had been harassing Hernandez, and while walking through a hallway, "Hernandez recognized the other inmate and launched into an attack -- beating the other man up pretty badly."

Last year, The Washington Post described Hernandez's "new life in isolation" as "a 10-foot-by-7-foot cell adorned only with a bunk bed frame, a stainless steel sink-toilet combination, and a metal desk with an attached stool."

The Bristol County House Of Correction and Jail could not be immediately reached by HuffPost for comment.

A Massachusetts sheriff says former NFL star Aaron Hernandez has been involved in a prison altercation.

Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson tells Rhode Island's WJAR-TV (http://bit.ly/1clACsv ) that the former New England Patriots tight end had an altercation at the Bristol County House of Corrections on Tuesday.

Hodgson said he couldn't provide much information, but told the TV station that Hernandez and another inmate are part of an internal investigation at the prison. He said Hernandez is away from the general prison population, in a segregated housing unit.
