Excruciating, that's the pain I feel from people all over the country who have let me know we need to work together to stop abusive rate increases from Anthem Blue Cross. I have reviewed over 350 of your comments responding to "Throw The Bums Out" and more are coming constantly. This is great work from all of you, thank you. I believe we have managed already with "Throw The Bums Out" to make huge difference.

This morning President Obama said he would propose legislation giving federal authorities the power to limit rate hikes by insurance companies. This is modeled on legislation proposed by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.).

It is time for us to make our voices heard. Our leaders and legislators need our help. They need to know we want them to act on our behalf. So California, reach out to the White House, Rahm Emanuel, Senators Feinstein and Boxer, Congressman Waxman and every other Republican and Democratic elected official who can help us. Tell them if they want to get re-elected, they need to pay attention to our message. Together, we have the power to persuade them to stop these rate increases and start taking care of our health concerns or they can't operate their businesses in California. There is strength in numbers. We can get this accomplished and they need our help to make it happen quickly. Our medical insurance is for our well being not to increase the bottom lines of insurance companies.

So join me in contacting Feinstein, Boxer, Waxman and all your respective representatives and tell them "It's Time To Throw The Bums Out." Together we can change policy in California and the country.
