Found via Gawker, theatergoers got more than their money's worth at last Friday's screening of '2001: A Space Odyssey' at the Egyption theater, the tail-end of a week-long Kubrick retrospective. At the movie's climax, a man described only as "Robert" has a presumably psychedelic drug driven break with reality, captured on video by no less than five members of the audience.
While there are many arguments one could make against the use of hallucinogens, the threat of instant, worldwide humiliation might in fact be the most compelling in this day and age. D.A.R.E. officers take note.
