The much speculated about, larger-than-life Bel-Air mansion belonging to actor Nicolas Cage was spotted by Curbed LA on ActiveRain this week, with the following update:

"On 3/18/2010 a Notice of Sale was recorded against the title to 363 Copa De Oro Rd...Cage bought the house in 1998 for $6.5 Million, but over the years the property was refinanced and borrowed against several times to the extent (that according to Public Records), over $17 Million is currently owed on the property."

The house is to be auctioned on April 7th, with bids starting at $11 Million.

The elaborate home, previously owned by Tom Jones and Dean Martin, is more than 11,000 sq. feet, with 6-bedrooms and 9-bathrooms. The two-story tudor mansion boasts all the comforts one could imagine, including an outdoor BBQ, a media room, a spa/sauna, a theater, a wine cellar, and one acre of lush landscaping.
