'The O.C." favorite Adam Brody is set to return to Fox for a guest role on "New Girl."

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brody will play Berkeley, an ex of Jess' (Zooey Deschanel), who is now a hip, married stay-at-home dad and has stayed friends with Jess since they broke up years ago.

TV Line reports that Brody's character is "open with his feelings and prides himself on having mastered the art of being an ex, which is probably why he and Jess (allegedly) remained the best of friends after their breakup."

Brody is best remembered for playing Seth Cohen on the hit Fox series "The O.C.," but has returned to TV with roles on "House of Lies," and FXX's "The League."

Brody isn't the only guest star "New Girl" has snagged this year, Damon Wayans Jr. returned to the series in what was originally a six-episode arc that has been extended to last the rest of Season 3.

The "New Girl" episode is set to shoot this week and will air next year.

"New Girl" airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
