Adam Wheeler Pleads Guilty, Sentenced To Probation

The former Harvard student who duped university officials across the country -- along the way acquiring scads of awards and grants with a fake resume -- plead guilty Thursday to all 20 counts against him.

Adam Wheeler, 24, of Delaware, was sentenced to 10 years probation and ordered to pay back $45,806 in grants to Harvard University. He was also ordered to continue psychological treatment.

According to the Harvard Crimson, the judge in the case mandated the decade of probation because of Wheeler's "compulsive" nature.

Wheeler acknowledged his faults before the court. In a statement, he said he was seeing a psychologist to deal with his "compulsive quality...and ensure that this will never happen again."

Wheeler was charged in May after it was discovered he had forged his resume and plagiarized scholarship applications at Harvard.
