I’m doing so well avoiding spectator sports, I’ve decided to banish another time waster. I’m going to stop reading articles about Mr. Trump’s presidency—and his life—and no longer discuss what he’s doing with my family members and friends.

Mr. Trump’s activities are, in my opinion, far more important than what happens on playing fields. I’ve always believed in an informed electorate. But I feel well-enough informed about Mr. Trump that I don’t need to know more.

I admit that I have been engaged with him, spending 15 minutes a day on average responding to Trump supporters on various blogs. I’ve also enjoyed reading the NY Times coverage of the Trump presidency. Avoiding Trump articles in The Times really means avoiding The Times because just about all of their lead articles are Trump related.

I also had begun collecting Trumpisms, maybe to make one of those $1.99 Kindle books. I could be missing out on millions by dropping Trump from my life. Sad. But big royalties probably won’t make me as happy as living without Trump. At least, I plan to find out.
