Adele Weight: Singer Will Lose Weight Only If It Affects Her Health Or Sex Life

Adele: 'Would Only Lose Weight If It Affected My Health Or Sex Life'

Though it's news to Lady Gaga, Adele's weight is often a topic of discussion for her critics -- not that she cares what they have to say.

According to "Adele: The Biography," excerpted by USA Today, the 24-year-old singer says she's comfortable with her body and has no plans on trying to shed any pounds.

"I read a comment on YouTube that I thought would upset me 'Test pilot for pies' — but I've always been a size 14-16 and been fine with it. I would only lose weight if it affected my health or sex life, which it doesn't," she told author Chas Newkey-Burden.

It's sad that the Grammy-winning singer has to make a statement like that, but at this point she's used to defending herself against rude critics.

In February, the singer responded with grace when designer Karl Lagerfeld called her "fat."

"I've never wanted to look like models on the cover of magazines," the then 23-year-old told People. "I represent the majority of women and I'm very proud of that."

And that wasn't the first time Adele's weight had been a topic of discussion. It's just that she's repeatedly expressed that the only opinion she's concerned with is her own.

"I've seen people where it rules their lives, who want to be thinner or have bigger boobs, and how it wears down on them," she told British Vogue in 2011. "And I don't want that in my life. I have insecurities, of course, but I don't hang out with anyone who points them out to me."
