One of the highlights of the auction is Catlett's "I am the Black Woman" series, a collection of 14 linoleum cuts depicting icons like Harriet Tubman and Sojourner Truth. Featuring the tightly silhouetted faces of heroines throughout history, the complete set of prints is expected to fetch up to $100,000.

The items in the auction's painting category are also worth a glance. There is Hughie Lee-Smith's "#4," a prime example of the artist's Detroit-inspired '50s works, as well as a rare oil-on-wood work by "The Banjo Lesson" artist Henry Ossawa Tanner.

The list of notable names rounds out with greats like Kara Walker, Romare Bearden and Richmond Barthe. Scroll down for a preview of the Swann Galleries' sale and let us know which artwork catches your eye in the comments section.
