Lauren Scruggs, Model Injured In Airplane Accident, Gets Fundraising Help From Friends (VIDEO)

Lauren Scruggs has spent every day in excruciating pain since a freak airplane accident disfigured her face, but the young model is feeling hopeful with the support of friends and family who hosted a fundraiser Tuesday for her, ABC reports.

After taking a airplane ride on Dec. 3 in Texas, the young model and fashion editor walked into a moving propeller, which sliced her face, shoulder and left hand. She subsequently had her left eye removed.

But Scruggs -- and her family and friends -- aren't giving up hope. Her supporters gathered on Tuesday at a restaurant in Plano, Texas where they raised $10,000 to help pay for Scruggs' medical bills.

"Tonight is about celebrating -- it is about celebrating that Lauren Scruggs is going to come back ten times stronger than she was before this accident," LeeAnne Locken, the night's emcee, told the crowd, according to ABC.

CORRECTION: This article previously stated Scruggs was injured in a helicopter accident. The aircraft was a small plane, not a helicopter.
