Toddler Found After Mother Was Shot To Death

A toddler who had been missing since Saturday after her mother was killed in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was found Tuesday in seemingly good health.

The search for 2-year-old A’Kyleana Latham began after her 24-year-old mother’s body was found shot to death in a car near her Baton Rouge home on Monday night, The Advocate reported.

Someone dropped Latham off in another part of the city on Tuesday afternoon, hours after the Louisiana State Police issued a level II missing and endangered child advisory.

Police told the Advocate they are unsure who transported the girl and declined to say exactly where she turned up.

Her father drove from Dallas to be reunited with her at a police station, TV station WFAA reported.

Investigators determined that Taylor Latham had been killed on Saturday -- the last day her daughter had been seen, the Baton Rouge Police said in a news release.

The Lathams moved to Baton Rouge from Texas a few months ago, the police said.

The investigation into Latham’s mother’s death ongoing.
