Alan Rickman, beloved for his role as Professor Snape in the "Harry Potter" films, died at the age of 69 on Thursday following a battle with cancer.
The actor had appeared in an array of films throughout his decade-spanning career, including 1988's "Die Hard," 1991's "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves" and "Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny," in 1996, for which he won a Golden Globe, a Primetime Emmy and a SAG award. He was well-known as Professor Snape in the "Harry Potter" movie franchise, spanning from 2001 to 2011.
Rickman and his body of work will always be remembered.
