Alaska Polls 2012: Closing Time, Opening Time, And Where To Vote

Alaska, it's just about time to vote.

Here's what you need to know about voting in Alaska on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012.

Closing time for Alaska polls is 8 p.m. local time. While the majority of precincts are located in the Alaskan Time Zone, vote returns are not released for the state until the entire state votes, and a portion of it is an hour earlier in the Hawaii-Aleutian Time Zone. Regardless of time zone though, 8 p.m. local time polls close.

Alaska polls opening time is 7 a.m. local time - again that goes for all time zones. Whatever your time zone, 7 a.m. your time is when polls open.

The state of Alaska does offer early voting, which began a few weeks ago, so some have already voted.
