'Alcatraz' Canceled, 'The Finder' Canceled And 'Touch' Renewed For Season 2

Two Fox Dramas Get The Boot, But 'Touch' Gets Season 2

Fox is shaping up its 2012-2013 TV season slate, and we now know, we'll get a Season 2 of "Touch" and saying goodbye to "Alcatraz" and "The Finder," which have both been canceled.

Fox has picked up "Touch" for a second season after the series, which centers on a father (Kiefer Sutherland) whose son can see events of the past, present, and future, but is completely mute, performed well in the ratings.

"Alcatraz" and "The Finder," on the other hand, didn't fare quite as well. While "Alcatraz" saw high ratings initially, the show about the San Francisco prison starring Sarah Jones and Jorge Garcia plummeted in viewership during its 10-week run.

The "Bones" spinoff "The Finder," starring Geoff Stults, didn't have much luck to begin with. The procedural had quite a bit of competition in its 9 p.m. time slot on Thursdays, going up against "Grey's Anatomy" and "The Office."

Fox also recently picked up four new series for the 2012-2013 season: "It's Messy," the much-anticipated comedy from "The Office" star/writer/producer Mindy Kaling; another comedy about an uptight single mom and her "manny," called "Ben & Kate"; "The Goodwin Games," a sitcom starring Becki Newton, Scott Foley and Jake Lacy as siblings fighting to inherit their late father's fortune; and a serial killer drama, "The Following," from "The Vampire Diaries" executive producer Kevin Williamson.
