Can you drink alcohol and lose weight? Probably not. Alcoholic drinks can be high in calories and drinking a few too many can increase your desire to seek out salty, fatty junk food.

But as the video above from Woman's Day shows, there is some evidence of health benefits for the occasional light beer or white wine. Just stay away from mixed drinks, such as those made with sour mix, tonic or juice, for example, which end up being caloric bombs.

Treat that glass of wine like any other caloric treat to be enjoyed in moderation and you should be good to go.
