Alec Baldwin Quits Twitter; Other Celebrities Who've Quit Twitter

Alec Baldwin's having a social media moment on par with Ashton Kutcher's Jerry Sandusky Twitcident. On Tuesday, the "30 Rock" actor broke news on his Twitter feed that he had been removed from a flight for refusing to shut down his iPad while playing an apparently intense game of the mobile gaming app, Words With Friends.

After venting on the social network -- with dozens of news organizations picking up the story -- the actor faced paparazzi upon landing at JFK International Airport, where he was photographed on Tuesday night.

"What's a twelve letter word that is interchangeable for HARVEY LEVIN?" Baldwin wrote, referring both to the Scrabble-esque game that prompted the spat and the founder of celebrity gossip website TMZ.

And just one hour later, Baldwin apparently decided he was finished with media entirely, self-generated or not. "Let's play a game called Mass Unfollowing. I want to crash this acct and start again. But, tonight at 10pm, NY time, unfollow me," he wrote.

A rep for Baldwin confirmed to People that the actor has quit his Twitter account, now listed as "Deactivated," albeit temporarily: "It's just on hold while he focused on '30 Rock.'"
