Alec Baldwin Tries To Tell Murdoch Joke In 'Saturday Night Live' Promo (VIDEO)

WATCH: Baldwin Tries To Tell Murdoch Joke, Is Censored Again

In the first promo for the "Saturday Night Live" 36th season premiere, Alec Baldwin has some fun at the expense of a recent headline-grabbing controversy.

No, not the protest against Ben & Jerry's new ice cream flavor, Schweddy Balls. Last week, Baldwin made a pre-recorded joke for the Emmy Awards at the expense of Rupert Murdoch's phone hacking scandal, but the joke was removed from the final broadcast (which aired on the Murdoch-owned Fox). (Despite earlier rumors, Baldwin's absence at the ceremony was not due to the censoring.)

But Baldwin finally has a chance to set the record straight in this promo for the new "SNL" season, where he will be hosting for a record-setting 16th time. The "30 Rock" star tells cast member Bill Hader the joke, but it's once again, audiences can't hear it. You'll have to watch to find out exactly why.

The season premiere of "Saturday Night Live," hosted by Baldwin and musical guest Radiohead, will be Saturday, Sept. 24 at 11:30 EST on NBC.
