Alex Mooney Wins West Virginia's 3rd District Over Nick Casey

Mooney Beats Casey

Republican Alex Mooney won his race against Democrat Nick Casey to replace Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Mooney is a former Maryland state senator who moved to West Virginia in 2013. His opponent is a lawyer who was endorsed by several Republicans from West Virginia who opposed Mooney's candidacy.

Capito faced West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant (D) on Tuesday and won the open Senate seat left by retiring Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D).
