The Thunder also employs Derby's son Rookie as a bat dog. Derby's dad, Chase, fetched bats for the team, between 2002 and 2013, ESPN noted.

The dogs might have a paws-itive effect on A-Rod, who was expected to return to the Yankees Thursday after a hamstring injury. He hit a two-run home run Wednesday, his third with the minor league club, the Thunder's YouTube channel noted.
