Alexander McQueen's 1997 Interview: 'Fashion's So Much About Kissing Ass And I Don't' (VIDEO)

Charlie Rose recently reran an interview originally aired on November 17, 1997 with then-budding designer Alexander McQueen. McQueen talks about Givenchy, and how fashion sometimes gets mundane. He also talks about dressing women, explaining, "I care about a woman's independence, I don't like her to look so naive...like a man has to have real balls to go up to her." But he also remarks, "I don't feel like I'm enjoying myself so much because I just work so much these days and I sit back and wonder what I'm doing it all for." He says that people see him as mad an eccentric, but he really likes the simple things in life.
