Alice in Wonderland Spawns Couture Styles

Tom Binns, Sue Wong and Swarovski are just some of the high-end designers who have teamed up with Disney to create custom jewelry and clothing inspired by Disney's new feature Alice in Wonderland.

Alice's broad appeal has inspired fans from Avril Lavigne to Stella McCartney to create signature pieces as an ode to the iconic tale. Couture styles, charm bracelets, and designer collectibles like tea sets, are just some of the items that have been designed for Disney.

"It really helps us reach a whole other consumer, someone with much more discerning or sophisticated tastes," explained Nidia Tatalovich of Disney Consumer Products.

Some of the artists began work on their collections as far back as two years ago, which were submitted for final approval by Director Tim Burton to keep with the creative vision of the film.

Although products vary in price from $8 to $2,000 and can be found in a range of stores from Kohl's to Swarovski, it remains to be seen if there will indeed be a market for couture animation inspirations spanning upwards of $1,000.
