Alice's Bucket List: Through #alicebucketlist, 15-Year-Old With Terminal Cancer Is Top Twitter Trend

Teen With Terminal Cancer's 'Bucket List' Is Top Twitter Trend

A 15-year-old girl diagnosed with terminal cancer has become a top trending Twitter topic around the world.

Alice Pyne, of Ulverston, England, was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma nearly four years ago. She writes on her blog, "I know that the cancer is gaining on me and it doesn't look like I'm going to win this one."

On her blog, Alice wrote out a bucket list of things she wants to do before she dies. In the days since, her inspiring story has launched her to Internet stardom. The hashtag #alicebucketlist began trending worldwide on Twitter, with thousands of tweeps, from celebrities to average Joes, rallying to help support Alice's bucket list wishes.

"Some are possible, some will remain a dream," Alice writes.

The list includes some simple things: "To get a massage," "To have a private cinema party for me and my BFFs." But the prevailing goal is to get everyone to sign up to become a bone marrow donor. Since her diagnosis, Alice has received extensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments. She has tried for a bone marrow transplant but did not find a match.

This last message has made it all the way to the British government, with Prime Minister David Cameron pledging his support for Alice's quest to raise bone marrow donors.

"After four years, 15-year-old Alice Pyne in my constituency is losing her battle against cancer," Woodcock, Labour MP for Barrow and Furness, told David Cameron on Wednesday, adding, "At the top of [her wish] list is a call to make everyone sign up to be a bone marrow donor, so will he work with the leader of the opposition and I to address why too few people are currently on this life-saving register?"

Cameron said he 'will certainly do that.'

The multitude of shares and retweets of #alicebucketlist has gained the attention of celebs like Johnny Depp, Ryan Seacrest, Jimmy Falon, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber. Check out what people are tweeting:
