ALMA Awards 2012 Fashion
The 2012 NCLR ALMA Awards airs this Friday, September 21 (on NBC at 8PM/7PM CT), but there's no reason to wait to see just how the red carpet sizzled and how the stars literally lit up the night... er, day.
The 2012 edition is again hosted by Eva Longoria and George Lopez, and will feature special awards and recognition to recently deceased, acting pioneer Lupe Ontiveros, global star Christina Aguilera, and Ryan Lochte and Hispanic Olympians from the London games.
Since 1995 the NCLR ALMA Awards have celebrated Hispanic achievements in entertainment, film, TV and music, helping to affirm the positive image and contributions of Latinos in the United States.
While such recognition is all the more important in today's hyper-politicized environment where almost one-third of the country believes that most Latinos are undocumented immigrants, we also have to be cognizant of the fact that people love to check out stars on the red carpet.
So for now, we'll put away the serious discussions and just sit back and let these stylish, beautiful, handsome and sexy Hispanics show us how it's done on the red carpet.
