Amanda Bynes Caught Smoking 'Drug Pipe,' Driving With Suspended License

Amanda Bynes is at it again and some are calling her the new Lindsay Lohan.

After being charged with a hit-and-run and getting her license revoked, Bynes was photographed smoking a "drug pipe" and driving with a suspended license in LA.

TMZ caught a series of photographs of Bynes, 26, smoking a "drug pipe" in her BMW, eating what appears to be a fast food meal and driving around aimlessly for hours on Tuesday. The photos reveal up-close views of Bynes' car, which is strewn with trash and blotched with stains.

TMZ also noted drug remnants in the vehicle. "In one shot, you see what appears to be remnants of marijuana in a cup holder. Some of the nugs appear burnt -- as if they had already been smoked," the website reported.

On Sept. 2, Bynes was charged with two misdemeanor counts of hit and run, ABC News reported. She allegedly crashed into two cars and fled the scenes twice in just five months, the first in April and the second in August. In June she was charged with DUI after an April 6 arrest.

According to the Los Angeles Times, DMV officials reported Bynes had her license revoked, but they did not state the specific reason for the suspension or when it took effect.

Bynes attempted to clear her name in June when she sent a tweet to President Barack Obama professing her innocence. "Hey @BarackObama... I don't drink. Please fire the cop who arrested me. I also don't hit and run. The end."

Her new life, and new look, have alarmed some.

"We should all be glad that she ditched her lilac hair, but maybe it's time we start to really worry about how closely she's following in Lindsay Lohan's footsteps," wrote BuzzFeed's Whitney Jefferson, who posted a collection of photos of the former Nickelodeon star looking noticeably disheveled.

The Los Angeles Times' Jessica Gelt asked if Bynes is "driving down the Lindsay Lohan path."

Lohan has faced a series of legal woes, beginning in 2007 with a DUI arrest.

"There's fresh trouble for Bynes, who, like reckless former teen star Lindsay Lohan, has seen her career take a downward dive with adulthood. (Two years ago Bynes, then 24, tweeted that she was retiring from acting and that she didn't find it fun anymore.)," wrote Gelt.

Gelt noted Bynes' insistence of innocence. "This also brings to mind the 2011 Lohan incident when the actress, upon failing an alcohol test while under house arrest, said that she had been drinking a fermented health drink called kombucha, which contains a very small amount of alcohol."

Bynes is due in court for an arraignment on Sept. 27, CNN reported. If convicted on the hit-and-run charges, Bynes faces up to six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine for each count.
