Amanda Knox Seattle Arrival: Emotional Welcome For Released American

Emotional Welcome For Amanda Knox In Seattle

Amanda Knox received an emotional welcome in hometown Seattle, where she arrived on Tuesday after being released from an Italian prison. Knox had been acquitted on Monday of the murder on her British roommate Meredith Kercher.

"I'm really overwhelmed right now," a sobbing Knox said upon her arrival. "I was looking down from the airplane and it seemed like everything wasn't real."

Knox also thanked everyone who had supported her and her family throughout the years. "Thank you to everyone who has believed in me, who has defended me, who supported my family," she said.

Knox's father told reporters that the family is looking forward to taking up normal life again. Curt Knox explained that coming home after spending four years in prison largely overwhelmed his daughter and that she would have to take time to readjust and reconnect with friends and family.
