Amanda Knox Sexual Abuse? Memoir Reportedly To Allege Harassment By Prison Guard

Reports: Knox To Allege Abuse By Italian Prison Guard In Upcoming Memoir

Amanda Knox, the American student who was imprisoned on accusations of killing her British roommate in Italy, will reportedly allege in her upcoming memoir that an Italian prison guard sexually harassed her while she was in jail, the Daily Mail claims.

The British tabloid writes that in the book, Knox accuses a senior guard at Capanne Prison of asking her for sex and summoning her to an empty office to "chitchat."

The Daily Mail quotes Knox:

"He was fixed on the topic of sex – who I’d done it with, how I liked it . . . if I would like to do it with him. I was so surprised and scandalised by his provocations that sometimes I thought I hadn’t understood the things he said to me. When I realised he wanted to talk about sex, I would try to change the subject."

The guard denies the accusations.

Amanda Knox and her ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito spent four years in an Italian prison on accusations of murdering Meredith Kercher. As the Associated Press details, 21-year-old Kercher was found with her throat slit in the house she and Knox shared in Perugia on Nov. 2, 2007.

Knox and Sollecito were convicted of the murder in December 2009, with Knox sentenced to 26 years in prison and Sollecito 25 years in prison. But in October 2011, the pair was acquitted and released from jail. An Italian judge then overturned the acquittal in March 2013 and ordered a retrial.

Upon being released from jail in 2011, Knox returned to her native Seattle where she resumed studies at the University of Washington. Her attorney, Carlo Dalla Vedova, told reporters the American student does not plan to attend the retrial.

Amanda Knox's memoir, "Waiting To Be Heard," will be released by HarperCollins and is set to appear in the U.S. on April 30.
