Woman Says She Stabbed Ex To Free Herself From 'Curse': Cops

A Florida woman is accused of fatally stabbing her ex-boyfriend, then telling cops she did it because he put a curse on her.

Amanda Lopez, 26, allegedly put a knife in 57-year-old Larry Lee Fryar at around 2 a.m. Monday in Kissimmmee, the Osceola News-Gazette reports. Fryar suffered life-threatening injuries and was pronounced dead at a hospital, according to WKMG. An autopsy report indicated that he had approximately eight stab wounds.

Investigators identified Lopez as a person of interest in the stabbing and tracked her down to an Orlando bus station, where she was attempting to get on a bus to New York.

Lopez allegedly admitted to the stabbing and said that her ex had "put a curse on her," according to an arrest affidavit obtained by My News 13. Police said she told them the only way to free herself from the curse was to kill Fryar.

She is charged with first-degree murder.
