Amanda Seyfried On Playing Linda Lovelace In 'Lovelace': 'It Could Ruin My Career'

Star Says Movie Might Ruin Her Career

Amanda Seyfried's latest film role is a risky one. The 27-year-old actress stars in "Lovelace" as the late porn star Linda Lovelace, famous for her role in the '70s pornographic film, "Deep Throat."

Seyfried appears as the famed porn star in the film, stripping down for the part. The actress, who rose to fame with early roles in more audience-friendly films such as "Mean Girls," "Mamma Mia!," and "Dear John," recently spoke about the risk she took in taking the part of Linda Lovelace, and the impact it could have on her career.

"This is the riskiest thing that's happening in Hollywood right now," Seyfried said in an interview with The Sunday Times. "The first thing you think about is that it could ruin my career."

Seyfried also recently addressed her nude scenes in the film, saying, "It's funny, because I felt liberated when I was doing it. I'm sure people that are very protective of me wouldn't feel very comfortable with that, but it's like, what's the big deal? ... Growing up I was made to feel nudity was wrong because everything was always censored in movies, and it was just like, why are we covering ourselves up?"

Also starring Peter Sarsgaard, Sharon Stone, Adam Brody, and Chloë Sevigny, among others, "Lovelace" is playing in theaters now.
