'Spider-Man' Takes The Box Office With $140 Million

'The Amazing Spider-Man" has spun itself a huge opening weekend, wracking up $65 million this weekend and $140 million in its first six days in U.S. theaters. Worldwide, "The Amazing Spider-Man" has made a staggering $341.2 million.

The film's opening day earnings -- about $35 million on Tues., July 3 -- set a record for a Tuesday opening. On Wed., July 4 the film pulled in $23 million.

In other box office news, Oliver Stone's "Savages" opened at No. 4 with a solid $16.2 million, while Katy Perry's concert film "Katy Perry: Part of Me" debuted to a disappointing $7.2 million. Meanwhile, Seth MacFarlane's "Ted" pulled in $32.5 million this weekend, to take the No. 2 spot. The raunchy flick has made $120 million since its release. According to Deadline, "Ted" is now eclipsing 2009's "The Hangover" as the biggest R-rated comedy.
