'Amazing Spider-Man' Extended Trailer: Spidey Saves C. Thomas Howell's Son From Bridge Fall (VIDEO)

Sony isn't letting up on its push for "The Amazing Spider-Man," this despite the fact that it doesn't come out for another seven weeks.

Just twelve days after premiering an exciting new trailer for Marc Webb's Spidey reboot, Sony has put out another exciting new trailer -- this one complete with a death-defying bit of heroism performed by Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) on the Williamsburg Bridge.

The new scene features C. Thomas Howell as a dad hoping Spider-Man can stop his son from falling to his death after The Lizard (Rhys Ifans) makes a mess of the famed New York bridge. Last year, Howell famously revealed -- perhaps without Sony's consent -- that the Lizard was a part of "The Amazing Spider-Man."

"Sony wants us to be hush-hush right now," he told the website Movieweb last year. "I play a relatively small role. I play a construction worker whose son is caught in the middle of a battle between the Lizard and Spider-Man on the [Williamsburg Bridge]. Spider-Man helps me get my son back from this perilous situation."

Spoiler alert: Spider-Man succeeds! But not before making the little guy feel good by allowing him to wear the Spidey mask. (Superhero anonymity, who needs it?!)

Check out the trailer above. "The Amazing Spider-Man" -- the self-proclaimed "most anticipated film" of the summer -- hits theaters on July 3.
