A Crazy Number Of Viewers Watched 'AHS: Asylum'

"American Horror Story: Asylum," the second season of the FX series, brought the scares and the viewers. The premiere, which aired on Wed., Oct. 17 at 10 p.m. ET, performed impressively in the ratings with a total of 3.85 million viewers.

"American Horror Story: Asylum" was the No. 1 program in its timeslot in the 18-34 adult demographic with a 1.78 rating, beating out ABC Connie Britton vehicle "Nashville," CBS' stalwart "CSI" and NBC's new series "Chicago Fire," according to FX. The show was No. 2 in the key 18-49 demo behind "CSI," but still ahead of "Nashville" and "Chicago Fire."

"Asylum" performed better than any single telecast of the first installment of "American Horror Story," upping its biggest episode, the finale, which boasted 3.22 million viewers in total.
