On a show where Lady Gaga is drinking blood, babies are murdering people and demons are using drill-bit dildos, shiz gets real. But now, there are clues “American Horror Story” is about to get a little too real.
Supposed set leaks from “AHS” Season 6 have people assuming it’s going to be a straight colonial theme, but do not believe the hype. Elements of a colonial theme are possible, but some fans have picked up on clues in “AHS” teasers that the new season will include a real-life modern horror story. And the show just gave more evidence that ...
Season 6 may feature Charles Manson.
”AHS” creator Ryan Murphy has wanted a Charles Manson-centric season for a while now. In a 2013 interview with Deadline, Murphy said Season 3 of the series almost focused on the cult leader whose followers carried out a series of murders in the late 1960s, including the grisly death of actress Sharon Tate. Murphy later decided against using the Manson story, saying it wasn’t respectful for the victims and citing the difficulties in getting rights.
“We might go back to the Manson thing in some regard one day,” he said.
Well, it appears that day is here.
Fans, including some on the HuffPost Entertainment Facebook page, began speculating that Manson would appear in the upcoming season after noticing the word “pig” in one of the new teasers ― the same word that was written in Sharon Tate’s blood on the front door of the house where her body was found. The teaser also appears to take place in some macabre nursery. Tate was weeks away from giving birth when she was killed.
Vanity Fair points out that the teasers also hint at a cultish theme. Manson’s followers, known as the Manson Family, fit the mold for that, too.
And now, a new “AHS” poster offers even more support:
Sure, the poster is creepy. But what’s the big whoop, right? Everything about “AHS” is creepy.
A poster with spiders coming out of someone’s eyes seems pretty basic until you consider the possible Manson connection.
While in prison, Manson turned his focus to the arts, and he famously has one muse in particular: spiders.
In fact, Manson created so much arachnid artwork that it had to be confiscated to prevent it from being sold as murder memorabilia.
If you’re still not convinced, check out this image posted by Redditor Ahszoo. The Redditor speculates that Manson is in Season 6 and also might’ve figured out who’s playing him:
The image on the left comes from actor Evan Peters’ Instagram, and it’s hard to miss the strong resemblance to the Manson look on the right. Peters, who is returning to “AHS” for Season 6, posted the photo earlier this year, causing many to speculate that he was hinting at a plot point for the new season. Does the Manson prediction finally crack the case?
Other Redditors say the photo is actually from Peters’ new project “Where the White Man Runs Away,” but the likeness is undeniable.
Is all this hinting at a Manson-like figure in Season 6? As they say in “Harry Potter,” just follow the spiders ...
”American Horror Story” Season 6 premieres Sept.14.
