Could Season 3 of "American Horror Story" be about witches, voodoo and the like?
That's what many fans of the FX series are guessing after Ryan Murphy told viewers there was a hint about Season 3 in last night's episode of "American Horror Story: Asylum," titled "The Name Game."
The scene in which a new juke box in the rec room played the 1950s classic "I Pull A Spell On You" prompted many audience members to make guesses about what Season 3 will be about and where it will be set. There were some who believed "American Horror Story" could next tackle the Salem Witch Trials and this isn't the first time that option has been thrown out there: Viewers guessed Salem would be the setting for Season 2 after Massachusetts seemed to be a clue in Season 1.
Others thought because "Asylum" takes place in New England, the witches we could be seeing are more likely to be New Orleans-based so as to avoid repetition.
Murphy is tight-lipped about Season 3 specifics, but he did tell Entertainment Weekly, "I sorta feel like for the third version I want to do something that’s a little bit more 'evil glamour' ... One of the things that I missed this season was I really loved having that Romeo & Juliet youth story with Violet and Tate [in Season 1]." He added, "We're contemplating shooting [Season 3] in a place in the country where true horror has been. We’ve got lots of delicious plans."
"American Horror Story: Asylum" airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on FX.
