'American Idol': Phil Phillips' Rough Night

After a lackluster performance, could "American Idol" ladies man Phil Phillips be going home? The top five performed twice each on a dual '60s and British night, and while Phil got some praise for his first song, the second was less well received. He also suffered through an awkward duet and Ryan Seacrest blabbing about his personal life.

“Definitely a lot more less energy kind of a vibe,” Randy Jackson said after Phillips performed "Time of the Season." “It was a nice performance. I don’t know if I’m jumping up and down, but it was nice,” he continued. J.Lo was modest in her praise. “You did a good job with it. I think so,” she said.

Lackluster praise -- and with only five left -- that’s dangerous.

Many reviews pointed out Phil’s looks have helped him a lot with votes, but that might change too. Seacrest spilled the beans that Phil has a girlfriend. “You have a girlfriend. … She’s with us tonight,” Seacrest announced. Phillips looked like he wasn't expecting that news to go public, and Buddy TV concurs, hypothesizing that his relationship status could hurt Phil's votes.

Phillips' bad night had another chapter, too. He sang an incredibly awkward duet of "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" with Joshua Ledet to cap off his no good, very bad evening. Watch the cringe-worthy performance below.
