Funderland Amusement Park
Located south of downtown adjacent to the Sacramento Zoo,
offers a variety of rides designed for children ages 2 to 12. Highlights at this small, family-friendly park include the Dragon Coaster, Log Flume and a classic carousel.

snakes twice around the track, thrilling riders, before returning to home base. It's a delight for both young and young-at-heart visitors.

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom
Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, opened in 1968, combines thrill rides with animal adventures. The 140-acre park, located in Vallejo, is about two hours by car from Sacramento. It is, however, the closest large amusement park to the state capital.
Scream Into The Sky
, the signature ride at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, opened in 2011. This gravity-defying swing ride takes riders up 15 stories before swinging them around at 43 mph.
Tons Of Rides
The SkyScreamer isn't the only thing to do at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The park offers 44 other rides, including eight roller coasters and two water rides. Equally enjoyable for visitors are the park's
. These include a chance to swim with dolphins, an opportunity to see Shouka the giant whale perform and a chance to interact with exotic animals like anteaters, sloths and macaws.

There are many food stands scattered throughout Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. In addition, the park boasts one full-service restaurant, the 1950s-style diner chain Johnny Rockets.

There have been several accidents at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in the last decade. Among these are
