Amy Schumer is seriously sexy as the May cover girl for Vanity Fair. Shot by Annie Leibovitz, the comedian is every inch the pinup girl in a red bodysuit with her blond hair in waves.

The article is basically an ode to Schumer's endless successes. The 34-year-old recently wrote a hit movie, "Trainwreck," hosted "Saturday Night Live," was nominated for a Golden Globe, released an HBO special and won an Emmy for her Comedy Central show, "Inside Amy Schumer."

On top of all that, Schumer set the Internet on fire when she and Jennifer Lawrence became friends (and a few months later when she began dating her boyfriend, Ben Hanisch).

But as Schumer becomes more successful, of course, more criticism follows. Schumer spoke with Vanity Fair about an old joke from her stand-up routine that resurfaced last year and got her into a lot of hot water, where she would say, "I used to date Hispanic guys, but now I prefer consensual."

"Like, it’s a formula. I got the wording of ‘consensual.’ I thought, You know what? Latin guys will be best. Because you can’t say black guys," Schumer told VF. "I could have said white guys, I guess, but the choice was, like, arbitrary."

The comedian added that it all came down to 'selective outrage,' adding "It’s like, Well, wait. What about the jokes I made about AIDS and the jokes I made about black people? Those were O.K.? I’ve made a lot of jokes about white people."

Thank you @vanityfair and Annie Leibovitz who I had to beg to take this shot

Schumer also spoke about what she went through after learning that a man opened fire on an audience watching "Trainwreck" at a movie theater. The incident, which occurred in Louisiana last July, left three dead, including the shooter. Schumer was doing press when her publicist called to tell her about what happened.

"I was by myself in a hotel, and I was just like, I wish I never wrote that movie," the comedian said. "It’s like when the 'Dark Knight' shooting happened, and in Paris. The idea of people trying to go out and have a good time -- you know, like looking forward to it? -- I don't know why that makes me the saddest."
