An Obama Thanksgiving: Past And Present (SLIDESHOW, VIDEO)

As demonstrated by the family trip to St. Columbanus Parish in Chicago on Wednesday, the Obamas are bringing Thanksgiving back to the basics: the spirit of giving. In 2006, the then senator handed out food donations at St. James Food Pantry in Chicago. In 2007, as a presidential candidate, he boxed food donations at New Horizons Food Pantry in Manchester, New Hampshire. That's not to say the Obama's don't do some private celebrating. As the couple told Barbara Walters on Wednesday night, this year they will host about 60 guests--mostly Michelle's relatives, Barack pointed out--but Michelle will not be cooking. "My husband ran for president. I should have an 'out' of cooking something for dinner. Don't you think?"
