Radio Host Dean Obeidallah Savages 'Deadbeat Nazi' Brought Back To Twitter Under Elon Musk

Andrew Anglin, who returned to the platform this week, had lost a multimillion-dollar libel case over fake tweets that could have endangered Obeidallah's life.

Radio host Dean Obeidallah on Friday tore into both Andrew Anglin and Elon Musk, who recently allowed the notorious neo-Nazi back on Twitter after a decadelong ban.

The racist, antisemitic, homophobic and misogynistic Anglin — who declared in 2018 that he hates women and believes they “deserve to be beaten, raped and locked in cages” — owes Obeidallah millions of dollars from a libel suit for fake tweets that potentially put his life at risk.

Speaking to MSNBC’s Joy Reid, the SiriusXM personality said that Anglin in 2017 fabricated tweets on The Daily Stormer — a website named after Nazi propaganda outlet Der Stürmer — “saying I was involved in terrorism because I wrote an article denouncing [former President] Donald Trump for not denouncing white supremacy.”

Anglin told his followers to “go confront Dean,” Obeidallah recounted. “So I got a ton of death threats. And I sued him in federal court and I won.”

The neo-Nazi never responded to the suit, and the current whereabouts of the Ohio native are unknown.

In a statement on Twitter this week, Anglin said that he will “strictly follow” all of the platform’s rules.

It’s unclear if flouting a court judgment is acceptable under Twitter policies. Musk, the company’s new CEO, has suggested that people who have been suspended from Twitter can return, “provided that they have not broken the law.”

Obeidallah planned to give the funds from the libel judgment to organizations that fight bigotry, he told Reid.

The radio host also used his appearance on MSNBC to address Anglin directly.

“Andrew Anglin, you deadbeat Nazi, if you’re watching, I want my money and I want it plus interest so I can give it to organizations that fight antisemitism, anti-racism, anti-LGBT, anti-Muslim hate,” Obeidallah said.

Unbelievably, Twitter’s interface was reportedly recommending on Friday that users follow the neo-Nazi’s account.

Obeidallah slammed Anglin’s reinstatement under the platform’s new owner.

“The idea that Elon Musk would help normalize a Nazi shows you Elon Musk is no friend of the United States of America,” Obeidallah said. “He’s amplifying divisions and it’s very dangerous.”

Last month, Musk similarly permitted the return of Ye — the rapper formerly known as Kanye West — whose account had been restricted in October over antisemitic messages. Twitter locked Ye’s account again this week after the rapper posted an image of a swastika intertwined with a Star of David.

It is unclear if the latest ban will be permanent for Ye, who said “I like Hitler” and “I also love Nazis” during an interview with conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Thursday.
