Andrew Jenks' 'It's About A Girl': Episode 1

"It's About A Girl" is a new web series from filmmaker Andrew Jenks, charting the experience of looking for love in your twenties -- and what happens when your expectations don't quite match up to reality. A new episode will be posted here on HuffPost Women each week.

This week's episode of "It's About A Girl" introduces us to our nameless protagonist -- a 20-something male New Yorker looking for love. His fantasy life in the city is filled with leisure time, romantic boat trips and attractive single women. But, as many of us know, the reality of finding a romantic partner is a little bit trickier -- and not nearly so glamorous.

In a Q&A with the Huffington Post, Jenks explained one of the challenges of dating in New York, which will be explored throughout the series:

Sometimes I walk by a big apartment building and think, 'I bet that perfect woman is in there.' But how would I know that? I don’t even know the five other people that live on my floor.
