Andrew Jenks' 'It's About A Girl' Episode 7

"It's About A Girl" is a new web series from filmmaker Andrew Jenks, charting the experience of looking for love in your twenties -- and what happens when your expectations don't quite match up to reality. A new episode will be posted here on HuffPost Women each week.

In the seventh chapter of "It's About A Girl," we find our protagonist taking a big step in his fantasy life. He bonds with his girlfriend's dad, eventually sitting down for a big talk with the man who could potentially be his future father-in-law. In reality, our nameless, lovelorn New Yorker is truly on his own in a city of millions, watching other people's love stories play out.

Jenks opened up to The Huffington Post in July about the unique difficulties of dating in New York City. "Everyone is from all over the place so you never know what you’re going to get," he said. "Most places in the world, the majority of people are from that area ... I don’t even know the five other people that live on my floor."
