Andrew Jenks Explains Why He Didn't Finish College (VIDEO)

When he was 16-years-old, Andrew Jenks started an underground film festival for his friends to share their self-made movies. Now, 10 years later, the filmmaker and star of MTV's "World of Jenks" is working with The Huffington Post, the New York City Mayor's Office, and other organizations to launch the first annual All American High School Film Festival.

Wednesday on HuffPost Live, Jenks announced that the film festival that will take place from October 4-6. He also talked about his new book -- "Andrew Jenks: My Adventures As A Young Filmmaker" -- and explained why finishing college wasn't necessarily the right path for him.

"I found a lot of other students to be pretentious, I couldn't identify with them," he said. "I found myself an outcast, and I'd go down to the Comedy Cellar [in New York] so I could hang out with great comedians. These are guys that are actually doing something."

Even though the young filmmaker now has his own successful TV series, he admits that he has dealt with some anxiety along the way.

"I'm very lucky in that I found something that I love," he said. "I have some anxiety issues and for me, making movies and television shows is an incredible therapy and outlet."
