Andy Puddicombe On His Testicular Cancer Diagnosis: 'It Was Shocking'

Four or five days after waking up feeling a little "off," Andy Puddicombe, former Buddhist monk and founder of the meditation app Headspace, found himself undergoing surgery for aggressive testicular cancer.

After his keynote address at Thrive, The Huffington Post's second Third Metric conference on redefining success beyond the first two metrics of money and power, Arianna joined Puddicombe onstage to ask about how his decades-long meditation practice helped him through this trying time.

"It was shocking," Puddicombe told Huffington. But, he says, "meditation made a massive difference."
