Everyone knows Andy Warhol's iconic pop art of the Campbell's soup can, Marilyn Monroe and Jackie O. But what was he doing before that? How did Warhol become the artist that he did?

Chronicle's new book Andy Warhol Drawings showcases Warhol's earlier work. Many of these drawings are parts of his relatively unknown commercial work between 1950 and 1960.

The art in the book is sprinkled with great Warhol quotes, such as "I think American women are all so beautiful, I like the way they look, they're terrific" and, of course, "In the future everybody will be world famous for fifteen minutes."

The book is the perfect addition to the Warhol fan's other tomes on the great pop artist.
